The cassette tape is a precious relic tied to my childhood. When I was little, whenever I felt sad or lonely with no one to play with, I would pull out the cassette tape to listen to the songs on it, even though I had heard those songs dozens of times. And that is also the reason I painted it in this picture. The meaning of this painting depicts a girl reaching out to touch a whale at the bottom of the deep sea. To me, whales are lonely animals despite their large size. The girl extends her hand to welcome the whale, to let it know that it is not alone in this vast world. I painted this picture in 2022 for the "In Art We Trust" competition by Heritage Space. Although this painting did not win an award and is not highly refined, I still cherish it very much. This painting also aims to express that: "You are never alone because there will always be someone by your side."
